Coffee Table Books for Christmas
Christmas is around the corner and I have begun to think about Christmas presents. I love beautiful things and especially coffee table books. It looks so luxurious to enter a home with beautiful books, it also says something about the personalities living there - not to judge but homes with Kinfolk feels rather average and that typical book which “man must have to be trendy" (unless you're in the edition yourself!). But why not choose something else? Let me tell you about two great coffee table books that I have at home, suitable for both man and woman, young and old.
The Art Book in a nutshell
The book presents 100 new artists, including for the first time Photographers and Performance Artists. It’s basically an accessible A–Z guide to artists from medieval times to the present day. Each artist is represented by a full-page colour plate of a definitive work, accompanied by explanatory information. Glossaries of artistic movements and technical terms are included.
Pirelli - The Calendar in a nutshell
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the legendary Pirelli calendar, this retrospective volume brings together all calendar images from 1964-2014 from such greats as Richard Avedon, Peter Beard, Annie Leibovitz, Peter Lindbergh, and Mario Testino, as well as behind-the-shoots insights from art directors Derek Forsyth and Martyn Walsh, and many exclusive unpublished images.
