Calming Winter Vibes
At the moment, I feel a bit confused in life; very energetic but no place to put my energy. And when that happens I turn to Feng Shui, an old learning about lifestyle and balance that includes Jing (calm) and Yang (energy). By reducing yang-related things and activities, life is generally becomes calmer. This may be to listen to quiet music instead of pop and to drink a cup of cinnamon tea instead of coffee. But it also excludes other yang related things in the home that are sharp, angular and have masculine shapes, or bright decorations as well as very warm and strong colors. If you feel stressed or lost, you should then tone down these things and activities.
How to give your home a calm vibe
Reduce the flow of Yang your home
Opt for round and feminine forms
Use natural colors resembling nature
Embrace your home with natural textiles and plaids
Cover or remove any sharp furniture and decorations
Here's what I do in detail:
I drink "calm teas" like cinnamon and chamomile in round cups
I use dried eucalyptus bouquets to bring nature in to my home
I cover my angular masculine chairs with soft sheepskins
All the colour tones are blue, gray or green, which gives me a stable and calm impression.
